The US Women’s National Ice Hockey team took on Canada last week at the Shark Tanks (SAP Center) in San Jose, CA. After a scoreless first, team USA got out to a 1-0 lead, but it would be team Canada with 3 unanswered goal and the win. For those in San Diego the highlight of the game was San Diego Hockey Referee Association member Jamie Huntley-Park wearing the bands along side Melissa Szkola, and lines of Jackie Spresser and Jodi Price.
Unfortunately, Jamie was not one of final officials selected to PyeongChang 2018, but says “it was an honor to make it to the final 6 [officials].” San Diego Hockey Referee Association will continue to support Jamie in her goal of reaching the Olympics. She now has time to continue building her professional career and starting a family.
Jamie will also be organizing the 2nd all female officiating camp, tentatively set August in Tacoma, WA. USA Hockey will also offer level 1-3 seminar registration at the camp. More info to come.
Look out Beijing 2022, Jamie is coming for you!
